Why You Need Opossum Control
While opossums may be unique, in that they are the only marsupials native to North America, when it comes to having them in your house they can cause many of the same problems as rodents.
Opossums, or ‘Possums as they are often called, have a tendency to burrow under porches and decks, into crawl spaces, and even into attics where they will live and breed.
Although they are not particularly aggressive, opossums can carry and pass on many of the same diseases as other nuisance wildlife. This includes many kinds of parasites and leptospirosis (hemorrhagic jaundice). Leptospirosis is transmitted through the urine and feces of infected animals and can be dangerous to pets, horses, and people.
If you discover a ‘Possum rummaging through your trash, snacking in your garden, or nesting too close for comfort, call the experts at ALL THINGS WILD to get them out and keep them out!
